Christmas Card History and Info

Photo Christmas cards?

It started as a joke. Every Christmas, I would inevitably receive the overly cute photo-card of some relative's family with the kids and the dog and the sled and the fireplace and the tree with the bows and the snowman...

In 1993 I struck back!! "Who needs the dog and the fireplace and bows etc... I'll make MY OWN 'joke' photo-cards!! ...I'll show them!!"

Ho Ho Ho.

Now, 10 years later, the joke's on me!! My "joke" Christmas cards were a hit. Now everyone wants one and my list of recipients has grown to over 250 people. Yes, that's 250 cards, 250 envelopes, 250 stamps, and a project that begins the day after Halloween!!
Of course I have lots of fun with this, and I receive bunches of holiday cards in return (thanks folks), but the project sure has taken on a life of it's own!!

Is there an end in sight?

It can't go on forever... what if I run out of drummer-boy ideas? What if I turn into a Grinch? What if it puts me in the poorhouse? I spend more money on Christmas cards than Christmas presents!! Who knows... maybe I'll keep it going for another 10 years. In the meantime, if you'd like to insure the longevity of the photo-card project, and help out financially, send a check for 37 cents to:
